Abstract

Consumer preferences have changed in direction of organic food. In this context, coffee is included, whose organic production has grown and expanded in Brazil. However, the economic viability of organic coffee production is fundamentally related to the price obtained at the time of sale. The objective of this work is to analyze the drivers of the adoption of organic coffee in Brazil. So, the factors proposed from Giménez Cacho et al. (2018). It is concluded that the main factors related to the adoption of organic coffee in Brazil are: the recognition of a crisis, the level of social organization, external alliances, favorable market and policies.
