This research to analyze transactions made between poultry farmers of Viçosa-MG and slaughter-processing integrator, in vertical integration model in the production chain of broilers, aimed in the light of Transaction Cost Economics corroborate the dependency of farmers in relation to industry. Therefore, field research was carried out to both chicken breeders, as well industry’s Integration Sector. It was found that the viçosenses creators are dependent on the system integrator, by applying the analytical categories related to the theoretical framework of the ECT.This dependence is given by the validations of behavioral assumptions, that is, the bounded rationality of the creators, by the complexity of the production process and the consequent opportunistic behavior of industry, by prior agreements and unilaterally defined, requires poultry farmers absorption of all rules of production. Furthermore, when analyzing the transaction dimensions, confirms to produc-tive dependency of the integrated due to the high specificity of the asset transacted and by provision of supplies and technical assistance by the industry.Downloads
