Matopiba potential in the poultry and swine production

This article aims at highlighting the potential and limitations for the development of swine and poultry production in the Brazilian region named Matopiba. The region was analyzed in terms of its potential and the productive chains needs of grains production, labor availability, infrastructure (roads, energy and communication) as well as the bottlenecks and strategies to overcome them. The study concludes that the Matopiba region has the basic conditions, but the activities´ start up, growth and consolidation will depend on coordinated actions of entrepreneurs and government representatives at city, state and federal level.Downloads
