Análise da política fiscal sobre a competitividade da carne ovina em Mato Grosso do Sul

Abstract

This research aims to show whether the incentives policy adopted by Mato Grosso do Sul to support sheep husbandry has caused the positive effects planned. A qualitative research was made through interviews with production chain key elements, direct observation of the chain stages and use of secondary sources of information. Progress can be seen in the sheep husbandry productive chain organization in Mato Grosso do Sul, such as producers organization improvement and the increase of both industries and slaughter with health inspection. However, the existent programs do not seem to have mechanisms able to stimulate the technology incorporation nor the search for coordinated action by both local producers and companies.
