Several technical, economic and/or social factors contribute to good or bad performance of irrigated public perimeters. One of the key aspects in the analysis of these factors is the ability to monitor them through calculation of measurable parameters. Thus, the objective of this study was to analyze technical and socioeconomic indicators of irrigated public perimeters of the region of Baixo Jaguaribe, in the state of Ceará, Brazil. The primary data were collected in the irrigated perimeters of Jaguaribe-Apodi, Morada Nova and Tabuleiros de Russas – the choice of them was due to their proximity to each other and the similarity of their administrative management. One of the results is that the Jaguaribe-Apodi perimeter brings the best conditions of financial self-sufficiency and has the most efficient system of collection of rates. The definition and evaluation of sustainability indicators enabled grants to future administrative decisions by the entities that manage those irrigated perimeters.Downloads
