Abstract

This paper aimed to demonstrate how the financing of agricultural production in the municipalities of Sinop and Santa Carmem (state of Mato Grosso, Brazil) happens. As the financing is no longer focused only on the official rural credit, nowadays, the private sources have the ability to finance the agricultural production of commodities, mainly the production of soybean and corn. Through employment of dialectic and with data about Cédula de Produto Rural (CPR) – rural product certificate –, provided by the notary’s office of property registration, it was possible to determine how this new form of relationship between the farmers and the agribusiness companies happens, as well as to determine the amounts of funding to the municipalities of Sinop and Santa Carmem.
