Abstract

The Brazilian agribusiness is responsible for about 40% of the Brazilian exportations. In this context Canada is an important market of the Brazilian agricultural exportations, therefore Canada imported US$ 168.7 million of agricultural products from Brazil in 2006. The objective of this study was to select agricultural priority products in short, medium and long period that presented greater potentiality for the increment brazilian exportations for Canada. This research was bibliographical, and were used sources of secondary data. The data had been treated by means of the study Commercial Radar, elaborated for the Secretariat of Foreign Trade (Secex), that crossed and analyzed many data. Concluded that 53 agricultural products are priority, which had represented US$ 6,777 billion import potential to be explored in the short , medium and long period. In short period 15 products had been selected, in medium period 20 products and the long period 18 products. Concluded that 19 sectors are priority and the 5 bigger sectors had represented together 62.72% of the total of the import potential to be explored.
