Abstract

The effects of global financial crisis in Brazil resulted in discussions that mobilized public opinion. In this context, the causes of the crisis were identified, expressing the concerns that in developed countries, mainly due to crisis of confidence, hit the mechanisms that leverage economies: the instruments of credit and financing. In relation to Brazil, reductions in economic growth in 2009, in the values exported in dollars and in farm income are expected. However, the crisis in agribusiness observed in the years 2004 to 2006, explained by the drop in prices of agricultural commodities, had more impact on the sector than the current global financial crisis until the beginning of 2009. Despite the current scenario, the projections of growth from 2010 support the projections of increased demand for food in the world, an opportunity to promote brazilian agribusiness.
