Abstract

The objective of this paper is to analyze the prices received by producers (PRP) of Carioca beans produced in São Paulo and Black beans produced in Paraná, also to analyze the relationship between the PRP with the prices paid by the producers (PPP) for the NPK 04-14-08 fertilizer in the period of 1995 until 2006. The Seasonal Variation Indexes (SVI) for the Carioca beans, Black beans and fertilizer are estimated separately. The results suggest that the Carioca beans are to be sold between October and December and the Black beans between September and December. The SVI for fertilizer revealed that the best period for the purchase of fertilizer is January, and May until July.
