Abstract

This research evaluated the impact of the Rural Insurance Premium Subsidy Program (PSR) on the harvested area and productivity of insured farmers in Matopiba. To this end, it employed the difference-in-differences (DID) estimator methodology with the propensity score matching (PSM) method. The results showed that the municipalities with policies contracted under the PSR exhibited higher averages for harvested area and gross value of production, with differences of 309.48 hectares  and R$ 2,657,859.00.
