Abstract

The objective of this work was to show the state´s bureaucracy related to environmental licensing as an impeding factor for the implantation of industrial units of product processing of family farming cooperatives, in the state of Alagoas, Brazil. Information was obtained in the field through data collected in a questionnaire of descriptive exploratory research applied to 12 family farming cooperatives. The results show that bureaucracy is the main impediment to regularize industries linked to family farming cooperatives. In order to deal with environmental certification issues, the cooperatives have adopted partnership and outsourcing systems and have significantly advanced the practice of intercooperation.
