Notes on salary work at the 2017 Agricultural Census

Abstract

Based on data from the 2017 Agricultural Census, this article aims to analyze the main information available on the permanent and temporary employees occupied in Brazilian agriculture. The results obtained showed that these workers represented 25.3% of the total employed persons. The agricultural wage labor market was also dominated by male employees and those over 14 years of age. In general, temporary work was more linked to family farming establishments, while permanent work was predominant in non-family establishments and those belonging to Pronamp.
