Female agribusiness labor market of Paraná

This study measures, analyzes and discusses the profile of women who work in the agribusiness in the State of Paraná, focusing in the socioeconomic aspects of these workers in the different segments of this sector. It uses as the principal data base the PNAD and, in a complementary way, it uses CNAE 2.0, Cepea and RAIS information. We estimate that, in 2015, the Paraná agribusiness corresponded to 23% of the total female population occupied in the state, with 41% of them working in the primary activities. Among these women, 53% are employed with a formal contract and 16% are self-employed. The primary segment concentrates the biggest part of the women that work for their own consumption and of unpaid women. Besides, this segment is also characterized by the employment of women with the lowest average years of education and of instruction level. The remuneration of these women, on average, was R$ 1,648 per month, and those who are better paid work with inputs production. Regarding to the position in the work, those women who are better paid work as employers, followed by those who are self-employed. Finally, towards the education level, women graduated in higher education receive 226% more than those without scholar formation, 192% more than those with elementary education and 136% more than those with high education.Downloads
