Given the importance of food security in the Brazilian countryside, this study aims to analyze the effect of Federal Government programs: National School Feeding Program (PNAE), Food Acquisition Program (PAA), and National Policy on Technical Assistance and Rural Extension (PNATER), for the probability of rural households showing mild, moderate, or severe food insecurity. For this purpose, a Multinomial Logit model was used, with supplementary data from the National Household Samples Survey 2013. The main results showed that the PRONAF and PNATER Programs help improve food security in rural Brazilian households.Downloads
