High income in family agriculture?

This study makes a systemic analysis of the managerial aspects of an agricultural production unit located in the city of Sananduva, Rio Grande do Sul, in order to identify costs, agricultural income and productive and commercial strategies of the family unit. Methodologically, this is a Case Study and the research instruments were interview, research, bibliographic review and observation. A SWOT analysis of the establishment and the definition of two-year agricultural production costs was made intentionally. The commercial activities developed are pigs and winemakers, in an area of 2.4 hectares, with UTH work overload. Agricultural income (AR) was R$ 81,885.22/UTH in the agricultural year of 2013/2014 and R$ 58,352.82/UTH in 2014/2015 and the area of RA/R$ 34,118.84/ha in 2013/2014 and R$ 24,313.67/ha in 2014/2015, compared to the average of Brazilian family establishments, is 5,000% higher. Pig breeding showed relevance for RA in the two years analyzed, being R$ 77,531.00 in 2013/2014 and R$ 57,943.45 in 2014/2015. It was verified that the UPA has low bargaining power in the commercial transactions, carried out via pig contract and spot grape market, being the competitive strategy of leadership in costs and differentiation, respectively.Downloads
