Agribusiness funding in Goiás State, Brazil

Abstract

The objective of the present work was to conduct a comparative evaluation of the agribusiness financing models identified in the state of Goiás, using the combination of a bibliographical research and a field study carried out with the rural producers of the State of Goiás. The official model analyzed comprises the financial agents that offer lines of credit, according to the rules defined by the Brazilian Central Bank. The commercial model consists of contracts signed in a free way with conditions established between rural producers and agroindustries. The results of the research identified a broad and comprehensive material with several opportunities for improvement for the agribusiness financing process.
