Abstract

This article reports results of the research / diagnosis carried out with consumers of rice and beans in the metropolitan region of Goiânia-GO. This research had a pretension to obtain subsidies for the accomplishment of a campaign of valorization of the consumption of these foods. The objective of this study was to understand consumer’s perceptions about several nutritional and functional aspects and other topics that interfere in the consumption of rice and beans. The data were obtained using o a structured questionnaire. This work is a pilot to validate the questionnaire, a tool for statistical analysis under development by Embrapa Arroz e Feijão and Universidade Federal de Goiás, to be applied in more other nines state capitals in Brazil, in order to obtain representativeness at the national level. The information gathered will be essential to guide the activities of the campaign, such as the elaboration of customized advertising pieces, addressing critical points, misperceptions and reinforcing positive points of diagnosed nutritional and functional aspects.
