There is no study in the literature that has evaluated the agribusiness labor market in the Brazilian states. Given the importance of agribusiness, which is high for the country and especially for some states, more local information about its labor market is relevant to the discussion about the performance and vulnerabilities of the sector and those who work in it. This study measured the labor market of agribusiness in the Brazilian states in 2015, making brief spatial characterization. The main database refers to the microdata of the Continuous PNAD and, in addition, RAIS and IBGE surveys. The results showed that the labor market of the sector is very concentrated in the Southeast, South and Bahia, and there is a smaller contingent of workers in the Midwest and North regions. The spatial pattern is reversed if analyzed from the view of the participation of the sector in the states, highlighting the states of the Midwest and North. As for the profile of agribusiness, while in the North and Northeast it is more focused on primary production, as it approaches the Center-South agribusiness becomes more agroindustrial and related to services.Published
