Abstract

The study aims to amount the United States of America´s (USA) concentration in Brazilian agricultural exports. Then, it builds a 1989-2015 series of Brazilian agricultural exports destined to the USA according to the Agricultural Agreement. Methodological proceedings include Locational Quotient (LQ), Locational Gini Coefficient (LGC) and the Hirschman-Herfindahl modified Index (HHm). In addition, it investigates a time trend for the LGC data. All over the years, there is not any concentration of Brazilian agricultural exports destined to the USA, on the contrary. However, the results map groups of products in which a typical net demand happens from the USA. Further researches are suggested particularly for the products of typical net demand and related to the potential bilateral agreements including the USA.
