Fish staggered production in Ceará semiarid with positive externalities
Keywords:

This paper evaluates the effects of the staggered production (production of fish and offal)of tilapia in Castanhão Dam, Jaguaribara, Ceará, with regard to economic results and environmental impacts. The survey selected by random drawing 81 of 300 fish farmers organized in cooperatives or not. Linear programming technique used to minimize the costs of the quarterly staggered production of fish and offal. The results showed that it is possible to obtain satisfactory economic results if farmers adopt the schedule found in the search. Furthermore the survey shows that the withdrawal and the sale separately from the offal for biodiesel production, plus additional income to the fishers saves considerable contamination of the environment, both surface and underground water as well terrestrial contamination.Downloads
