Abstract

In 1860 – 150 years ago – Imperial Decree no. 1,067 created the Secretariat for Agricultural Affairs, Commerce and Public Works (the Secretariat for the sake of brevity), the organization that was the embryo of the entity that after being given different names was finally called the Ministry of Agriculture (MUELLER, 1988b).
