The Support Programme For Development of Agricultural and Livestock Sector – PRODESA objectives are to provide public infrastructure to farmers aimed to increasing crop production and yield, improving the quality of agricultural products and their marketing. The operation is carried out mostly by official financial agent Caixa Econômica Federal-CEF, through transfer agreements to the beneficiaries and its resources coming from parliamentary amendmennts or from appropriations arising from brazilian executive government. The most popular modalities are the ones for Agriculture Machinery, also known as “Agricultural Patrol” and Agriculture Development Projects Support. The eficience uses of machineries and implements are maximized when coordinated by a Municipal Council for Rural Development, in those municipalities where the council is instituted. Purchased equipaments are for exclusive use in rural areas and federal inspectors from MAPA make supervision on technical charactheristics and use of them. Overall, there has been the correct use of equipments. Eventually faced with a nonconformity of use or pending. In these cases, the public administrator is notified / ordered to make immediate correction. The farmers interviewed demonstrate a high degree of satisfaction, generally small and medium farmers in the municipality, which would not be able to purchase individually those machineries, ship production on time and in better conditions of rural roads.Downloads
