Abstract

The porpuse of this study was to conduct a comparative analysis relative to the framework of the Brazilian wine industry before four alternative scenarios established in the year 2014, under the Strategic Development Program of Rio Grande do Sul Viticulture - Vision 2025. Based on a descriptive analysis of the main changes occured in the wine production chain of the major producing regions of Brazil, the study highlights the sectoral evolution of a maintenance scenario (most pessimistic) for Quality and Identity Affirmation scenario, result of significant improvements in technological/market level and in sectorial governance and organization, with visible impacts on their competitive edge and sustainability.
