Abstract

A diagnosis of production systems in settlements and “grass funds” of Bahia grass to 2008-2009 or 2009-2010, and another to 2009, had argued the existence of high inequality, low yields and income. Prospecting your reasons, we find Meso-regional differences and establish comparison with data of the State of Rio Grande do Sul and across the country. We conclude that the distribution of land is not enough to overcome poverty and that we must to rethink public policies in the face of recent changes in Brazilian agriculture, increasingly concentrated and exclusionary.
