Abstract

The paper presents the concern with the increase of the demand over the agricultural products and the repercussion of the grow of the production over the water resources. To inform the ways of the irrigated agriculture development did make possible, with other factors, the increment of agricultural performance and how the Brazilian farmers can expand the irrigated area, improve the irrigation practices, adopting sustainable agricultural manner and support, in the next years, the country and the world with the food, fiber and energy production.
