Turnover and employment growth by gender in the farming in the Northern Region

Abstract

This paper intends to answer if there are gender differences in net employment growth and labor turnover in farming in the Northern Region from 2001 to 2010. The results show that the States of the North region have high turnover rates, which affect rural workers. The net employment growth was negative throughout Northern Region. The conclusion shows that male gender is more affected by rotation and also are the most affected by unemployment.
