Abstract

The study aims to analyze the distribution of PRONAF resources among regions and Brazilian States in from 199 to 2014. The main hypothesis of the study is: there is unequal distribution of the average values of the contracts. The research uses secondary data from the Central Bank. Use as assessment procedures the means contrasts and geometric growth rates of the annual number of contracts, total annual and average values of these contracts. The survey results confirm the hypothesis that the PRONAF contracts are concentrated in the more developed regions of Brazil. The Northeast has the lowest average value of contracts, followed by the North, the poorest regions of Brazil.
